Senna Hills: Maintenance

In September and the beginning of October, S&S Trail Services was busy in west Austin at the Senna Hills neighborhood. Flooding had moved a couple of bridges and tumbled a few trees. The S&S Crew trimmed weeds and performed routine maintenance on most of the trail system, in addition to correcting the storm damage. One section of trail had cedar duff build up on the low side, preventing water from draining. This whole section was debermed.

In addition to this work, S&S Trails used a powered auger attached to a Ditch Witch to assist an Eagle Scout in installing benches along the trail system. The rocky ground proved tough to drill into, even with the 25hp motor assisting. The benches, once installed, will be a nice feature of the trail. One will overlook a creek crossing and bridge with a wonderful aural feature as the water cascades down hill.
